Starman: Offline Revenue Generation Works for Law Firms
Everybody knows you’ve got to get reviews for your business, in order to increase client conversion – though, the power of reviews may be diminishing in the new world of ‘answer engine optimization’. Even so, good reviews remain relevant trust marks for legal consumers – when they’re trying to choose which law firms to contact & select.
Most of the consternation around getting reviews is web-focused, like: which platforms to focus on; which office locations to drive reviews to; how to followup on review requests; what software(s) to use to manage it all; etc. But, in all that hubbub, sometimes business owners lose sight of the simple interactions, that can goose their review totals.
Lots of law firm personnel don’t necessarily ask for reviews during personal contacts any longer – instead, they’re mostly focused on email & text followups, occurring after the fact. And, you don’t want to ask folks to generate reviews from devices at your own office, anyway – since those will be suspect to the review services (as all of those reviews would be coming from the same IP address). But, when you do get people in your space, with their smartphones in their hands, it makes sense to give it a shot, right? I mean, you’re right there; and, you’ll never know, if you don’t ask. This all begs the question, though: how do you know they’re going to come through, and actually post something – if they can even find the right place to post it!
Well, I guess you never truly know, until you see the review come online; but, hard cards with QR codes and plastic standup placards, can help make the possibility more likely.
You can ask clients to tap the card/placard or scan the QR code, which allows them to complete a review, via the right url, using their own phone.
Just try not to stare them down too hard, to make sure that they do the deed, okay? That’s off-putting.
Assuming you can be cool about it, this should help pump up your review totals from rookie numbers, to something a bit more impressive.
